| What are some of the running themes in the books?
One of the main running themes is probably the betraying of a child by its mother. |

| | One of the running themes is definitely rape, and another, incest. |

| | Yep, all three of those are very prevalent running themes. I would say that another is the death of the parents, or at least the father. |

| Another one would be The poor girl finds out she is rich. Another one, the mother is always a ditz and only cares about looking good. The Grandmother rules the family is another good one. |

| Another is a hero (male) figure who strays off the path of "good" at least once, but we like him again later.
Examples:
Logan cheating on Heaven with Fanny. Cary is a jerk to Melody at first.
Another is the lead female character straying away from the love interest we think she should be with, but she falls for somebody else.
Examples:
Heaven with Cal instead of Logan. Dawn with Michael Sutton instead of Jimmy. Melody develops a crush on Kenneth while she's with Cary. |

| These are all really great. How about... the main heroine is always intelligent, but still naive.
She starts a relationship with the wrong guy, sees that this guy is wrong or bad, and then her hero shows up. |
