It seems like V C Andrews had a really hard life. I guess she was confined to a wheelchair since childhood, and was a painter as well as a writer. There isn't very much information about her personal life out there - does anybody know anything else?

Well I found out that she was in a wheel chair after falling down the stairs, and that she died of breast cancer in the 1980s.
